A Somerset County man was killed early Sunday morning when he got trapped between moving train cars.
James R. Livengood, 55, of Meyersdale was walking alone on Main Street about 1:30 a.m. when he came upon a stationary train. He had just left a bar, and Pennsylvania State Police believe he was walking home.
As Mr. Livengood attempted to cross the train tracks between two rail cars, the train began to move. He is believed to have lost his balance and become trapped underneath.
The cause of death was ruled multiple blunt force trauma, and state police said the death was accidental. Officials said it will take several weeks for blood test results to show if alcohol was a factor in Mr. Livengood's death.
