What Information Must the Moving Company Provide?

Question: What Information Must the Moving Company Provide?
When it comes to hiring a moving company, there are rules that they must follow when providing you with this service. The Department of Transportation outlines the rules in their guide, Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move, which your mover must provide you at the time of signing the order of service.
So, make sure your mover provides you with all the documentation required by using the checklist below.
Answer:
Before Moving Day
1.    A copy of the written estimate (binding or nonbinding)
2.    A copy of the U.S. DOT publication, "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move"
3.    A copy of the order for service once it has been signed and dated by you and the mover
4.    Contact information for complaints
On Moving Day
1.    A copy of the Bill of Lading/Freight Bill upon pick-up
2.    A copy of the completed Bill of Lading/Freight Bill upon delivery
NOTE: Remember that the Bill of Lading is your contract with the mover. Keep this document with you at all times.
