Instructions
Things You'll Need
· Newspapers
· Heavy duty cardboard boxes
· Strapping tape
o 1
Crumple three sheets of newspaper and lay them in the bottom of a box. This will pad the bottom layer of china.
o 2
Spread two full sheets of newspaper on a table or counter and place a plate in the center.
o 3
Fold the exposed parts of the newspaper on top of the plate and place it in the box; this will create a cushion for the next plate. Continue until all plates are packed or the stack is 2 inches from the top of the box.
o 4
Place one sheet of paper on the table and set a cup in one corner. Roll the cup end over end until you reach the opposite corner, then fold the side corners over and under. Place the cup in a corner of the box full of plates. Continue wrapping cups until the box is full: one stack of plates in the middle and two cups in each corner for a total of eight cups.
o 5
Add three or more crumpled sheets of paper until the box is filled to the top, and the china cannot shift. Close the box, tape it and mark it "Kitchen: China."
o 6
Pack your next box in the same manner only with bowls in the center and glasses in the corners, filling small gaps with small wrapped knickknacks if necessary. Repeat the process until all of your china is wrapped.
Tips & Warnings
· Unpack your china into the dishwasher of your new home to remove any newspaper ink that may have left smudges. Load your boxes of china on top of other items when moving.
