MANILA, Philippines - Suspended Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan is moving back to his cell sans an order from the Quezon City Regional Trial Court that he can stay at the Philippine Heart Center for an extended confinement.
A dzMM report said personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) are now waiting outside the hospital to bring him back to Camp Bagong Diwa.
BJMP Director Rosendo Dial said without a clear ruling from the court, they can’t do anything but bring Ampatuan, an accused in the Maguindanao massacre case, back to his cell.
His one-day confinement was met with criticisms, including from the Palace, which objected to his hospital arrest.
