OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police arrested a suspect early Monday morning who jumped out of a moving car during a police chase.
An officer first spotted the car sitting outside a closed gas station at N.E. 23rd Street and Lottie and thought it looked suspicious. When the officer approached the car, the suspect sped away.
Officers pursued him, but the chase only lasted about two minutes. It ended when the suspect bailed out of the car while it was still moving. The car rolled down the road and slid down an embankment.
The suspect tried to run, but he was caught in a vacant lot at N.E. 29th Street and Lindsay.  Police arrested 26-year-old Michael Dawayne Collins. Police say when they searched Collins'  car, they found drugs. They say Collins was already wanted on outstanding felony drug warrants.  He now faces several more charges, including attempting to elude officers, drug possession, and speeding in a residential area.
