AFS Philippines Staff underwent comprehensive training on Globalink conducted by Mr. Monwong (Ton) Bhadharavit of AFS International from November 13-16, 2006 in Manila, Philippines. The training coincided with the switchover of Globalink to the 5 stage sending process.
The Sending, Hosting and Volunteer Recruitment Processes were also reviewed by Ton where he gave valuable recommendations to further improve the processes. The Staff headed by Nelson Santiago, National Director, have now laid down plans to fine tune AFS Philippines operations to ensure smooth interaction with partner countries.
The training and review has come at a strategic time where Philippine operations is on an upswing with tremendous step-up of Sending and Hosting activities. AFS Philippines has launched the aggressive marketing of the AFS brand in leading schools and communities, resulting in an increase in YP applicants and the addition of more volunteers as host families and host schools, to beef up its hosting capacity. AFS Philippines is working to become the frontrunner for the choice destination for students looking for a Sun-Drenched Adventure and English Language Education with a flavor of exotic Asian culture.
