JOSH SMITH MAY BE MOVED TO ORLANDO - THE BOSTON CHANNEL NEWS

Trade talks between the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic involving Hawks forward Josh Smith are legitimate, CBSSports.com reported Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Yahoo! Sports reported the Hawks were trying to move Smith, with his preferences being Boston, New Jersey, Houston or Orlando. Wednesday's report cited anonymous NBA executives who said the Hawks are trying to move him while also paring salary. Smith has two years and $25.6 million remaining on his contract. The Magic are in a bind with superstar center Dwight Howard, who has said he will not sign an extension but would consider remaining in Orlando if the team won the championship next season. Howard and Smith have known each other since their prep days in the Atlanta area. The report did not say what the Magic would offer in return. They already have a handful of players with long-term contracts in Gilbert Arenas and Hedo Turkoglu. Smith averaged 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks last season. Paired with Howard - a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year - he would give the Magic an imposing defensive front line.
