‘GORING’ NOW MOVING TOWARDS TAIWAN - ABS-CBN NEWS

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical depression “Goring” is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is heading towards Taiwan, weather bureau PAGASA said Sunday.
In its weather bulletin issued at 11 a.m. Sunday, PAGASA said Goring was moving west northwest at 10 kilometers per hour. As of 10 a.m., it was spotted 460 km north of Basco, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.
“Kaninang 10 ng umaga nasa labas na ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility. Malapit sa PAR line pero papalabas na po siya at papunta sa Taiwan,” weather forecaster Aldzar Aurelio told dzMM.
“Wala nang pag-asang bumalik itong si Goring at kanyang tinutumbok ang Taiwan. After ng Taiwan, sa China na,” he added.
Goring, however, will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, which will bring occasional rains in Luzon and the Visayas and may trigger flashfloods and landslides, the weather bureau warned.
Aurelio said Luzon and the Visayas will continue to experience rains up until Tuesday or Wednesday.
As for the Low Pressure Area (LPA) off Mindanao, Aurelio said: “Natangay ito ng malakas na hangin dulot ng habagat, nasira ang structure niya at tuluyang nawala. Wala nang magiging epekto sa Mindanao.”
But Aurelio still advised the public to exercise necessary precautions as LPAs may still develop. -With a report from Dennis Datu, Radio dzMM
