How to Move Heavy Furniture

Move Heavy Furniture
Packing for a move is never easy. It involves looking into every room, tossing away things saved but never used. Next is a trip to the supermarkets gathering up various sizes of boxes for packing. Once the small things are taken care of, the big stuff has been finished we turn to the heavy stuff. Rolling up a room size carpet means moving some very heavy furniture. It might take more than one person to do this job, especially if the furniture is old, and made of real wood. This can be a back breaking job, unless you learn how to move it easily.

Steps

  1. 1
Buy Sliders of appropriate size at your local hardware or homegoods store (or national chains like Home Depot or Lowes).

Lift each corner and put a Slider underneath so that the smooth edge is towards the floor.

  3. 3
Move the furniture, holding it low, once all corners have sliders - because the friction is almost eliminated and the furniture moves very easily.
